Today’s Movie for Men is Act of Valor, a story about Navy SEALs. There have been a few movies about SEALs in recent years, but this one was the first since the pathetic Charlie Sheen movie from the Eighties. A unique aspect of Act of Valor is that the actors are real Navy SEALs! If you haven’t seen it, the SEAL action is impressive and as real as it gets on film. In addition, there are some powerful lessons to be learned from this film.
“Before my father died, he said the worst thing about growing old was that other men stopped seeing you as dangerous. I’ve always remembered that, how being dangerous was sacred, a badge of honor.” – Chief Dave, Act of Valor
“I tell you what, the only thing better than this right here is being a dad. Except for that whole changing diaper thing.” – Chief Dave, Act of Valor
“Remember, you have warrior’s blood in your veins. The code that made your father who he was is the same code that’ll make you a man he would admire, respect.” – Chief Dave, Act of Valor
