“And there was war in heaven.” – Revelation 12:7
What if there was an epic struggle for the souls of all mankind going on all around you? Would you believe it? Would you want to fight? On which side? Or, would you rather remain neutral? Of course, that is never really an option in any war. Neutrality is tacit approval for the victor.
If you were waging such a war for the souls of men, how would you do it? Would you perhaps try to distract and misinform the men whose souls you are trying to conquer? Would you try absurd distractions like chocolate bunny rabbits and colorful eggs? “Pay no attention to that man who died on the tree and the rumors of him coming back to life. Look! There’s another egg!”
Now, don’t worry. I’m not condemning Easter eggs and chocolate bunnies. If the truth be told, I’m likely to be distracted by chocolate. I’m not suggesting anyone is evil for enjoying candy on Easter. It is a bit different from the picture we get in Revelation though, isn’t it?
