“To be trusted is a greater compliment than being loved.” ― George MacDonald
Trust is the currency of honor. We give it away freely in small amounts. As relationships deepen, trust deepens. One may earn a great deal of trust from others, as he proves trustworthy.
To betray that trust is a grievous sin. It is like borrowing a million dollars from a friend and throwing it away on a horse race bet. Trust, unlike money though, is not so easily earned again. It may never be regained from someone who has been betrayed.
“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.” – Luke 16:10
So, about that $1,000,000… 🙂
